I had an opportunity to speak today at the Malaysia SDG Summit 2024 which was launched by the Prime Minister Malaysia YAB Dato Seri Anwar Ibrahim.

As the experts from the Ministry of Health took the stage, they addressed the critical role of the private healthcare sector in achieving the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) related to healthcare. They emphasized the importance of public-private partnerships in expanding access to quality medical services, especially in underserved communities. The panelists highlighted the need for private hospitals to align their initiatives with the SDGs, focusing on areas such as universal health coverage, maternal and child health, and the prevention and treatment of communicable and non-communicable diseases. By fostering collaboration and shared accountability, they believed the private and public sectors could collectively drive progress towards these global health objectives.
