27 July 2017: We now move to greater heights in managing healthcare with better leadership, technology and Innovation which will not necessarily be expensive but effective and perhaps affordable. Safety in treatment was discussed in detail at the recently concluded APHM International Healthcare Conference and Exhibition 2017 which attracted 800 delegates with two prominent VIPs: Minister of Health Malaysia-Datuk Seri Dr S Subramaniam and Minister for Health, Arts and Health Issue, Government of South Australia- Hon Jack Snelling.
The usage of big data and new application devices within the hospitals and personal wearables will be the core driver in research and creating solutions in managing diseases in the future. I had the privilege of chairing a session with Ms Farhana M Nakhooda who is the Director for Healthcare & Social Services, IBM Asia Pacific. Her topic was on IBM Watson and How It’s Being Used in Hospitals.
