I had the privilege of leading a productive and meaningful discussion with several board members of the Association of Private Hospitals Malaysia (APHM) alongside Dr. Zakiah, CEO of the Malaysian Medical Council (MMC).

Our conversation addressed several pertinent matters, including the registration process for Malaysian doctors returning from abroad, the qualifications and licensing of foreign specialists, and the issuance of Temporary Practice Certificates (TPC).

We also explored strategies to further reinforce the Fitness to Practice (FTP) framework for private specialists, recognizing its vital role in upholding high standards of patient safety and robust healthcare governance.

Additionally, the MMC took the opportunity to remind all stakeholders about the importance of planning ahead for the Annual Practicing Certificate (APC) 2027 registration to ensure a seamless process for all practitioners.
