Visiting the Medical Officers at Emergency Department

At 830pm today: 5th February 2017: I had informally visited the Emergency Department of my hospital. It was a pleasant surprise for the doctors who found me very casual with them and we spoke for a few minutes to share their experiences and also mine. I recalled my good old years in the emergency department of Hospital Kuala Lumpur and Hospital Kangar.

The job at the emergency is interesting but extremely challenging. Emergency doctors treat all sorts of conditions that patients will have throughout the day and night. Sorting the acute condition of the patients and then referring to the appropriate specialist for further care does take an additional skill which comes with experience.

I salute to all doctors who work in the Emergency Departments both in public and private hospitals for their tireless contribution to the population.
