We use to rush to bookshops and small stalls to buy festive cards for Hari Raya, Chinese New Year, Deepavali and Christmas. It was fun writing down the names of your friends and then licking stamps on envelopes. Posting the cards early was very important as the cards must reach on time. We made special effort to remember who had sent you a card during your festive day and then in return send back a card during his or her festivity.
Today, social media has taken the card sending ritual away from us and everything goes electronic. The worst feeling is getting recycled images on Whats App and Facebook wishing you on the festive day. Mobile phones are loaded with hundreds of greeting messages from the time the clock strikes 12 mid night.
[su_quote]But I still had the opportunity to sign a few personalised Hari Raya cards this time and I thought to my self how long more will this method last?[/su_quote]
